Chang Moo Shin
Mr. SHIN, Chang Moo is President of PPCBank. The bank is owned by South Korea’s Jeonbuk Financial Group, which acquired it in 2016 and for which Mr. SHIN has been working for the past six years, steering its digital transformation.
Before moving to Cambodia to complete the post-merger integration and lead PPCBank’s business restructuring process, Mr. SHIN played a central role in the development of the JB Group’s open banking platform, “OBank”. He also organised a series of global “fintechathons”, aimed at promoting and strengthening collaboration between commercial banks and fintech startups. He has been the JB Group’s CIO, CSO and CFO.
He brings a keen strategic focus and over 25 years’ experience to what is now one of Cambodia’s most innovative and fastest growing commercial banks. Over the past three years, he has been instrumental in expanding PPCBank’s digital channels to include mobile app, online banking solutions for corporates, mobile teller platforms and an intelligent call center.
Mr. SHIN has worked for some of the world’s largest financial services companies, including PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Arthur Andersen, where he was responsible for business strategy and financial consulting projects for some of Korea’s top financial institutions. At Daishin Securities and Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia, Hong Kong, where he held the position of investment banker, he handled global IPOs, as well as mergers & acquisitions of Korean corporates. He was also a founding partner of Korea’s Pegasus PEF, where he served as CEO and CIO for five years before joining the JB Group in 2013.
Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, Mr. SHIN holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Politics from Korea’s Sogang University, as well as an MBA from the University of Iowa.
