His Excellency Pan Sorasak is recognized as one of the main drivers of the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the public sector. At the Ministry of Commerce, he initiated and lead the implementation of the Ministry’s ICT Master Plan and Trade Information Website and was responsible for the modernization of the Ministry’s ICT infrastructure. The Ministry of Commerce is planning additional upgrades including using technology for Human Resource Management to monitor the performance of the Ministry’s departments and staff and establish a communication channel with the officials and private sector. His Excellency Minister is one of the main proponents for SMEs and private sector to leverage technology for their business activities. Under his tutelage, the Ministry of Commerce has put in motion the drafting of Cambodia’s 4th generation trade strategy, the Cambodia Trade Integration Strategy 2019-2023 and the much-needed E-Commerce Strategy to serve as a roadmap for trade and trade-related technology development. Both of these documents will be completed this year. His Excellency Minister is crucial in pushing for the finalization of many draft laws and various amendments including consumer protection, food safety, competition, secured transaction and trade remedy.
